East Coast Swing Dance Contest
On Friday night Windy City Wedding Dance joined the The Chicago Bar Association for their Annual Benefit and East Coast Swing Dance Lesson. The East Coast Swing lesson was a big success with over 100 people on the dance floor. The Barrister Big Band played some great music and everyone got to practice their new East Coast Swing moves. After several songs of social dancing, the Chicago Bar Association followed with a dance contest. We had the honor of judging and wow it was tough. We started the contest with 15 couples narrowing it down to the final 4 couples. The Barrister Big Band knocked it out the park with a final song for the east coast swing contest. As the band played Sing Sing Sing, all the finalist were really shaking those hips. We saw some great dancing with variations of East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and Charleston. After all the dips, tricks, and spins, the final scores were in and it wasn’t easy picking a winner. The contest winner were chosen by audience applause. Congratulations to all the dance contestants and our 1st place champions for 2014, Sharon and Dave Elkin.
