WCWD Instructor’s Sister got Married
Helping a wedding couple prepare for their wedding dance is a wonderful connection no matter who it is with but when the person you are helping is your sister things can get especially emotional. Windy City Wedding Dance instructor Alesha experienced this first hand when her sister got married last monght.
Alesha’s sister Amanda walked down the isle and married her long time boyfriend David. They got married at the beautiful botanical gardens in Madison, WI and had a wonderful winter theme throughout the night. The couple had been dating since Amanda’s freshman year of college most of their relationship was long distance but never did they doubt their love for each other. This was especially true last February when David got down on one knee on their annual vacation to the Wisconsin Dells and Amanda said yes.
The couple danced their first dance to a 90s R&B song and did a medley of different dance styles. They opted out of a choreographed dance and just learned certain dance moves that went with their song and “free-styled” on the big day. It was a beautiful moment for the couple and needless to say Alesha shed more than a few tears watching her baby sister dance. After the couple danced their first dance David grabbed his mother and Amanda grabbed her father to have a special dance with each of them. Amanda’s father had also been taking ballroom lessons and guided Amanda around the dance floor like a princess.
If you have a family member or special friend getting married who would like some help with their first dance please feel free to reach out. Also remember it is more than just the Bride and Groom dancing on the big day; fathers, mothers, friends and relatives will be dancing as well so make sure everyone is prepared with Windy City Wedding Dance!
